Simultaneous surgery for coexisting heart disease and non-cardiac malignancy: assessment of feasibility in case series.

We present case series of simultaneous surgery for coexisting cardiac and non-cardiac pathologies to evaluate the feasibility of the treatment. The retrospective analysis included 27 patients aged between 28 and 74 years. The most often heart diseases were coronary arterial disease and valve defects, and the most often heart surgery was coronary artery bypass grafting.

Association of Insomnia with Anxiety and Depression in Type 2 Diabetic Patients: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is associated with sleep disorders, which in turn may lead to anxiety and depression. Sleep deprivation impairs glucose metabolism causing a decrease in insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance. The present study aimed to determine the association of insomnia with anxiety and depression in patients with T2DM.

The article presents up-to-date information on the association between sleep disorders and diabetes mellitus type 2.
