Noble element time projection chambers are a leading technology for rare event detection in physics, such as for dark matter and neutrinoless double beta decay searches. Time projection chambers typically assign event position in the drift direction using the relative timing of prompt scintillation and delayed charge collection signals, allowing for reconstruction of an absolute position in the drift direction. In this paper, alternate methods for assigning event drift distance via quantification of electron diffusion in a pure high pressure xenon gas time projection chamber are explored.

Wastewater recovered magnesium phosphate (MgP) salts were used in a forward osmosis (FO) system as draw solution in order to extract water and to produce a nutrient solution to be used in a hydroponic system with lettuces (, L.).

Methods: We conducted a retrospective data analysis of perinatal registry data for the years 2011 and 2017 to compare the following outcome measures: stillbirths, labour induction, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, antepartum haemorrhage, postpartum haemorrhage, preterm births, low Apgar score, acute neonatal respiratory morbidity, meconium aspiration and in-hospital neonatal death.
This paper presents the Mechanical Ventilator Milano (MVM), a novel intensive therapy mechanical ventilator designed for rapid, large-scale, low-cost production for the COVID-19 pandemic. Free of moving mechanical parts and requiring only a source of compressed oxygen and medical air to operate, the MVM is designed to support the long-term invasive ventilation often required for COVID-19 patients and operates in pressure-regulated ventilation modes, which minimize the risk of furthering lung trauma. The MVM was extensively tested against ISO standards in the laboratory using a breathing simulator, with good agreement between input and measured breathing parameters and performing correctly in response to fault conditions and stability tests.

This study aimed to assess the impact of the preoperative use of internal iliac artery balloon occlusion (IIABO) catheters in patients who had a cesarean delivery (CD) for invasive placentation, commonly known as the placenta accreta spectrum.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study reviewed 67 pregnancies complicated by abnormal invasive placenta and confirmed intraoperatively.
