Dual-targeting drug design has become a popular approach in investigating and developing potent anticancer agents. In this regard, carbonic anhydrase (CAIX) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR-2) are emerging as highly effective targets in the battle against cancer. In the present study, two series of 4-thiazolidinones/2,4-thiazolidinediones carrying 2-methylbenzenesulfonamide derivatives were designed and synthesized as potential dual CAIX/VEGFR-2 inhibitors.

Background: Balance and motor functions are associated with a complex sensory-cognitive-motor system that is not reliant on a single component. In people with Multiple Sclerosis (pwMS), deficits in cognitive domains may cause abnormal gait and balance disorders. Therefore, the impact of cognitive rehabilitation (CR) on motor and balance functions in pwMS was investigated.

Artificially prepared superhydrophobic surfaces toward a self-cleaning "lotus effect" and anticontamination performance have become critically important in the past few years. However, most approaches to create the required topology with a hierarchical roughness comprise several manufacturing steps of varying practicality. Moreover, the desired low surface energy is in most cases achieved with fluorinated moieties that are currently criticized due to biological and environmental hazards.

Background: Thiol/disulphide homeostasis (TDH) has a critical role in many cellular activities such as antioxidant protection. Alterations of oxidative stress in the transition period play an important role in development of some diseases and disorders in dairy cows.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to assess the total antioxidant status (TAS), total oxidant status (TOS), oxidative stress index (OSI), total thiol, native thiol, disulphide and lipid profile in Simmental and Montofon dairy cows (aged 2-3) before and after calving.

In this work, various methods were used to improve the printability of a photocurable polyvinylsilazane resin filled with silicon nitride particles for digital light processing. The developed resin was used as a preceramic polymer for polymer-to-ceramic conversion. The pyrolysis-induced structural changes of the additively manufactured objects were evaluated by comparing samples with different thicknesses, filler amounts and heating profiles.
