The European Biophysical Societies' Association (EBSA) is an association of 32 biophysical societies in Europe dedicated to the promotion of excellence in biophysics. Through cooperation and collaborative activities, EBSA makes a major and positive impact on the European and International biophysics community. Biennial congresses at various European locations, organized by host societies, are a major activity that engages biophysicists with the wider international scientific community.

An optimized eDNA protocol for fish tracking in estuarine environments.

Environmental DNA (eDNA) is revolutionizing how we investigate biodiversity in aquatic and terrestrial environments. It is increasingly used for detecting rare and invasive species, assessing biodiversity loss and monitoring fish communities, as it is considered a cost-effective and noninvasive approach. Some environments, however, can be challenging for eDNA analyses.

A Virtual Music Mindfulness Tool for Individuals of African descent during COVID-19.

Mental health disparities result from complex factors, including differential diagnoses, lack of access to standard mental health treatments, and inconsistent application of treatments when care is accessed. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated these disparities as marginalized groups had less access to testing and care while having higher infection rates. Community-based forms of care, such as music and mindfulness, are affordable and accessible options that can potentially address present mental health disparities.

Changing Treatment and Metastatic Disease Patterns in Patients with EGFR Mutated NSCLC: An Academic Thoracic Medical Investigator's Consortium Registry Analysis.

Introduction: Osimertinib is now a standard first-line (1L) therapy for EGFR-mutated (EGFRm) advanced NSCLC. We aimed to characterize patterns of therapy and longitudinal risk of brain and liver metastasis in a cohort of EGFRm NSCLC.

Methods: Patients with metastatic EGFRm NSCLC who received 1L systemic therapy at sites within the Academic Thoracic Medical Investigator's Consortium were included; demographic and clinical data including treatment patterns were described.

Electron-rich anilines as cleavable linkers for peptides.

We report the development of a new electron-rich aniline (ERA)-based cleavable linker. Anilines can be incorporated into peptides during SPPS and are stable to most reaction conditions. ERA-containing peptides can be cleaved rapidly in the presence of oxidants, such as DDQ, CAN, and NaIO, in 30 min at room temperature.
