[Neurodegenerative amyloidoses: the yeast model].

More than 20 human diseases are related to protein misfolding which causes formation of amyloids, fibrillar aggregates of normally soluble proteins. Such diseases are called amyloid diseases or amyloidoses. Of them only prion diseases are transmissible.
