[Leptin levels in patients with bronchial asthma and diabetes mellitus].

Material And Methods: Leptin concentrations were measured with enzyme immunoassay in 101 patients with bronchial asthma and diabetes mellitus and 31 healthy controls with overweight. The mean age was 54.

[Tuberculosis morbidity in the USSR population and basic trends of its dynamics].

Data on tuberculosis morbidity covering the period 1950-1989 are presented: special features of tuberculosis epidemiology for the studied period are emphasized; grouping of the republics is given by tuberculosis morbidity rates and pattern; difficulties encountered in tuberculosis prevention and detection are discussed which can adversely affect the decline of tuberculosis mortality rates.

[Evaluation of the status of the distal arterial bed in occlusive lesions of major arteries of the extremities].

Kinesomanometry of the arterial bed was used as a diagnostic procedure allowing the assessment of resistance of the distal arterial bed before the reconstructive step of operation in 137 patients, subjected to restorative operation on major arteries. The method facilitates prognosis of early thrombosis of the vascular prosthesis.

[Predicting the duration of functioning of iliac artery prostheses].

A formula has been computer-derived to predict the duration of the operation of lavsan vascular prostheses, implanted in the iliac artery. The relative mean-square prognostic error is 2.8%.
