The widespread development of lignin valorization is hindered by a number of challenges. In particular, efficient valorization necessitates comprehensive characterization of initial lignins. In this work, the structural features of lignins from birch wood (Bétula péndula), obtained by various methods of hard and mild fractionation of biomass: hydrolysis (Hyd-L), kraft (Kraft-L), soda (Soda-L), and soda-ethanol (SodaEt-L) processes, as well as organosolv processes with dioxane (MWL, DL) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO-L) have been comprehensively studied.

Background: Juvenile idiopathic arthritis pathogenesis involves a large number of different immune system cells, which are both sources and targets of chemokines, that affect not only their migration but also survival, proliferation, differentiation, production of all cytokine types, degranulation, and also directly stimulating or suppressing angiogenesis. Studyingthe contribution of chemokines to this disease pathogenesis will make it possible to identify new sensitive and specific markers for its diagnosis and subsequent dynamic monitoring of treatment effectiveness. The study aimed to identify a list of the most informative diagnostic markers from a wide range of juvenile idiopathic arthritis patients' blood plasma chemokines.

The Northern Dvina River is one of the main sources of microplastic pollution entering to the White and Barents Seas. The coastal and bottom sediments of this river play an important role as a transfer link of microplastics. With Py-GC/MS and μFT-IR methods, it was found that the sediments contain up to 350 mg/kg or 650 particles/kg of microplastic (dry weight).
