Dihydroquercetin (DHQ) is a plant-derived polyphenol belonging to the group of flavonoids. In models associated with abnormal accumulation of -amyloid in the brain (Alzheimer's disease and cerebral amyloid angiopathy), DHQ demonstrates the ability to disaggregate toxic forms of -amyloid and prevent their formation. It is believed that this phenomenon underlies the protective effect of DHQ on brain neurons.
