The ECG parameters were studied and compared in normal subjects and patients suffering from affective psychosis running bi- and monopolar course during the development of the depressive phase and after its removal. At the prodromal stage before treatment, the patients manifested sinus tachycardia, changes in the ST configuration and QRS complex. On the histograms of RR intervals distribution, the modal value was shifted to the area of short intervals, the mode amplitude was higher whereas the variation range was more narrow than in the healthy subjects.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAssessment of serum gastrin, digestion and absorption of protein, fat 10-15 days after operative treatment in 119 patients with gastric ulcer revealed that independent of the observation time the gastrin level remains low in patients following gastric resection and high following selective proximal vagotomy. The processes of digestion and absorption of proteins, fats are inhibited in the early period after operative intervention with a tendency towards normalization in the remote period.

It was established that an increase of the concentration of immunoreactive insulin and C-peptide with simultaneous reduction of immunoreactive trypsin and accumulation of the radioactive agent in the liver may be used as a diagnostic test of incomplete vagotomy.
