Echinococcal disease can present with giant abdominal cysts at very young age: A case report.

Echinococcus granulosus larvae can cause cystic echinococcosis (CE, also known as hydatid disease) in humans. The latent phase of hydatid disease lasts for years as a result of the slow growth of the cysts, which only become symptomatic when they are large. Therefore, CE is seldomly seen in very young children.

The working alliance inventory - short version: psychometric properties of the patient and therapist form in youth mental health and addiction care.

The therapeutic alliance is considered to play an important role in youth treatment. The commonly used versions of the Working Alliance Inventory (WAI) are based on Bordin's three-dimensional alliance model. However, previous psychometric studies of the WAI did not find this three-dimensional structure in youth psychotherapy.

Neural correlates of emotion acceptance and suppression in borderline personality disorder.

Background: Emotion dysregulation is a central feature of borderline personality disorder (BPD). Since impaired emotion regulation contributes to disturbed emotion functioning in BPD, it is crucial to study underlying neural activity. The current study aimed at investigating the neural correlates of two emotion regulation strategies, namely emotion acceptance and suppression, which are both important treatment targets in BPD.

Caudate hyperactivation during the processing of happy faces in borderline personality disorder.

Background: Emotion dysfunction and anhedonia are main problems in borderline personality disorder (BPD). In the present functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study, we investigated neural activation during the processing of happy faces and its correlates with habitual emotion acceptance in patients with BPD.

Methods: 22 women with BPD and 26 female healthy controls watched movie clips of happy and neutral faces during fMRI without any instruction of emotion regulation.

Biliopancreatic and biliary leak after pancreatoduodenectomy treated by percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage.

Background: Complementary to percutaneous intra-abdominal drainage, percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD) might ameliorate healing of pancreatic fistula and biliary leakage after pancreatoduodenectomy by diversion of bile from the site of leakage. This study evaluated technical and clinical outcomes of PTBD for this indication.

Methods: All patients undergoing PTBD for leakage after pancreatoduodenectomy were retrospectively evaluated in two tertiary pancreatic centers (2014-2019).
