Purpose: To compare the odds of patellofemoral instability events requiring subsequent surgery and revision surgical intervention in patients with joint hypermobility syndromes (JHS) to that of a matched cohort.
Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study using the PearlDiver Mariner Database. Records were queried between 2010 and 2021 with a diagnosis of JHS, including Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and Marfan syndrome.
The biting midges Latreille, 1809 (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae) is highly relevant to epidemiology and public health, as it includes species that are potential vectors of human and animal arboviruses. The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of RNA viruses in species of the genus collected in the Carajás mining complex in the state of Pará. The biting midges were collected in the municipalities of Canaã dos Carajás, Curionópolis and Marabá and morphologically identified.

Urgent attention is directed toward managing MCs, as evidenced by rising HAB-related do not drink/do not boil advisories due to unsafe MC levels in drinking water. UV/chlorine treatment, in which UV light is applied simultaneously with chlorine, showed early promise for effectively degrading MC-LR to values below the World Health Organization's guideline limits.
