Introduction: Obesity during childhood is a critical public health issue. The summer break from school is a time when children are prone to accelerated weight gain. We aimed to investigate how obesity prevention or treatment programs implemented over the summer affect anthropometric measures or weight-related behaviors.

Comparing cranial suture interdigitation in humans and non-human primates: unearthing links to osteopathic cranial concept.

Context: Since William Garner Sutherland's inception of osteopathic cranial manipulative medicine (OCMM), osteopathic physicians have practiced with the knowledge that cranial sutures exhibit motion. We hypothesize that the complexity of suture interdigitation in humans may provide clues to elucidate the concept of OCMM.

Objectives: We compared the interdigitation of sagittal, coronal (left and right), and lambdoid (left and right) sutures in computed tomography (CT) scans of humans and five nonhuman primate species (, , , , and ).

Hashimoto's thyroiditis presenting with cardiac tamponade: a case report.

Cardiac tamponade as the initial manifestation of Hashimoto's thyroiditis is an exceedingly uncommon occurrence. We present the case of a 36-year-old female who was admitted due to acute respiratory distress. A cardiac ultrasound revealed a severe pericardial effusion with tamponade signs.

Identifying Local Interfaces.

While interfacial regions often occupy a relatively small portion of a system, physical and chemical processes often proceed differently within them. It is therefore useful to identify interfacial regions to answer many questions in physical chemistry. Thermodynamic phases are often described by their density and local structure; therefore, interfacial regions can then be defined as regions with densities and structures that deviate from the properties of the neighboring phases.
