The first case of a point pathogenic variant in the RREB1 gene in Noonan-like Rasopathy.

The RREB1 is a zinc finger transcription factor that plays a role in regulating gene expression and inactivating MAPK signalling components. To date, no pathogenic variant in the RREB1 gene has been associated with any disease, but several cases of 6p terminal deletions affecting the RREB1 gene have been reported. In this study, we report the first case of RREB1-associated Noonan-like RASopathy caused by a pathogenic variant within this gene.

Effects of Levofloxacin on Blood Lymphocyte Apoptosis in Patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis: an In Vitro Study.

The effects of a fluroquinolone levofloxacin on apoptosis of peripheral blood lymphocytes from patients with infiltrative pulmonary tuberculosis were studied in vitro. It was found that levofloxacin stimulated apoptotic cell death in tuberculosis. Addition of levofloxacin to cell suspension from patients with drug-susceptible form of tuberculosis led to an increase in the number of CD95+ and AnnV+ lymphocytes.

[Prevalence of hereditary pathology in Altai Republic].

Medical genetic study of the population of Altai Republic (Russia) has been performed. The population sample comprises 203 148 subjects, including 59 196 Altaians, 134 972 Russians, and 8980 Kazakhs. For each nosological group, the loads of Mendelian pathology with different modes of inheritance and their prevalence rates in urban and rural populations have been determined.

[General and oncologic morbidity in Moscow municipal transport drivers].

A case study was undertaken to examine general and cancer mortality rates and cancer morbidity among municipal transport drivers in Moscow. The mortality and cancer morbidity in 1969 to 1988 were followed up among 2528 men and 212 women. In this period, male mortality rates due to malignant neoplasms, cardiovascular diseases and all causes taken together were statistically lower than the expected rates.
