Article Synopsis
  • The study analyzed the fine structure of apricot pectin polysaccharides using various spectroscopic techniques, leading to the identification of a purified pectin fraction (F1AP) mainly composed of D-galacturonic acid, L-rhamnose, D-arabinose, and D-galactose with a molecular weight of approximately 1588 kDa.
  • Two distinct fractions, F1AP1 and F1AP6, were isolated from this pectin fraction with different structures and molecular weights, with F1AP1 showing a high molecular weight (1945 kDa) and a complex structure associated with proteins, while F1AP6 was less methylated with a molar mass of 117.5 kDa

Plant diseases annually cause damage and loss of much of the crop, if not its complete destruction, and this constitutes a significant challenge for farm owners, governments, and consumers alike. Therefore, identifying and classifying diseases at an early stage is very important in order to sustain local and global food security. In this research, we designed a new method to identify plant diseases by combining transfer learning and Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA).

Purpose: To analyze anatomic and functional response to intravitreal brolucizumab in age-related macular degeneration recalcitrant to previous intravitreal anti-VEGF therapies.

Methods: In this monocentric, one arm, retrospective study, eyes affected by neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) resistant to other intravitreally injected anti-vascular endothelial growth factor inhibitors were switched to intravitreal brolucizumab. All patients underwent ophthalmological examinations at baseline and in regular follow-up intervals.
