Microorganisms have received a lot of interest recently for their potential to transform organic waste into sustainable energy and high-value goods.

Health Risk of Heavy Metals Related to Consumption of Vegetables in Areas of Industrial Impact in the Republic of Kazakhstan-Case Study for Oskemen.

Among various heavy metal sources the metallurgic industry is the most threatening because emitted metals presented are the chemical forms in which metals are found in soil are more bioavailable and thus very easily are introduced into the environment and spread in both soils and plants. In this study such a situation is presented and the potential negative effect of emitted metals on soil and vegetables is estimated. Therefore, the following indicators were used: bioconcentration factors calculated for the total amount of metals (BCF) as well as daily intake of metal (DIM) and health risk index (HRI).

Efficiency of a probiotic in carp lactococcosis in an in vitro experiment.

The purpose of this article is to study the effect of the probiotic on experimental infections of carp's fingerlings with Lactococcus garvieae. Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) (Lactobacillus fermentum 24с, Pediococcus pentosaceus 10/9к, Lactobacillus paracasei 9c) for the probiotic were previously isolated from the intestines of mature carps from Maybalyk commercial fisheries, which provided fingerlings for this experiment too as well. The feed-contained probiotic was given to fish in the experimental group for 14 days before challenge with pathogen L.
