Lithopedion - A rare complication of abdominal pregnancy: A case report.

Dead foetal remains retained within the abdomen following an ectopic pregnancy leads to the formation of lithopedion, a rare entity. A 44-year-old woman sub-fertile for 16 years presented with sub-acute abdominal pain. She had not sought medical help earlier, on account of her religious or cultural beliefs.

Use of intermediate cervical plexus block in carotid endarterectomy -an alternative to deep cervical plexus block: a case series.

Introduction: Carotid endarterectomy is performed for patients with symptomatic carotid artery occlusions. Surgery can be performed under general and regional anesthesia. Traditionally, surgery is performed under deep cervical plexus block which is technically difficult to perform and can cause serious complications.

Super-refractory status epilepticus, rhabdomyolysis, central hyperthermia and cardiomyopathy attributable to spinal anesthesia: a case report and review of literature.

Background: There are only six past reports of super-refractory status epilepticus induced by spinal anesthesia. None of those patients have died. Only < 15 mg of bupivacaine was administered to all six of them and to our case.

Assessment of the oral cancer control activities through care seeking behavior of hospital attendees and their level of awareness.

Oral cancer is the most common cancer among males in the Sri Lankan population. The aim of this study was to assess the health seeking behaviors and associated factors for OPMD. A hospital based descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among Out Patients Department attendees of the Institute of Oral Health, Maharagama, from July 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019 by administering a questionnaire followed by an intra oral examination.

Morphological analysis of cementoenamel junction in premolars of Sri Lankans.

Cementoenamel junction is an anatomical landmark which indicates the meeting point of enamel of the crown and the cementum of the root. It is an important reference point in clinical dentistry as well as in dental radiography. The present study is done to describe the distribution of the mineralized tissue at the cementoenamel junction in relation to various surfaces of the premolars.
