The use of a rigid tube endoscope (RTE) through a laparoendoscopic single site surgery device for intracavitary visualization during endoscopic uniportal surgery (EUS) is directly related to the fulcrum effect and physical competition (externally between surgeons and on instrumentation through the single port). These facts may have precluded a wider spread of EUS. In an attempt to separate the imaging system from the laparoendoscopic single site surgery device, a tiered project (3 models) that can help overcome these drawbacks is detailed.

[Thymectomy in thymomatous and non-thymomatous myasthenia gravis: analysis of a cohort of 46 patients].

Introduction: Factors predicting remission after thymectomy for myasthenia gravis are not well known.

Aim: To analyze the clinical evolution of the patients after this intervention and discuss about predictors of response.

Massive spontaneous hemothorax in patients with neurofibromatosis type 1.

Spontaneous hemothorax is an uncommon event that can occur in patients with a history of neurofibromatosis type 1 because of intrathoracic vascular malformations that predispose to aneurysms or bleeding from thoracic tumors. Only 53 cases of this rare association have been reported in the literature since 1975. We described 2 cases: one patient was a 73-year-old man with a right hemothorax secondary to an intercostal neurofibroma; the other was a 35-year-old woman with a left hemothorax secondary to a neurofibroma that compromised the internal mammary artery.
