The increase in young onset colorectal cancer and the complex care needs of young cancer patients spurred the development of the Center for Young Onset Colorectal Cancer at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This article describes the lessons of the first 2 years at the Center, including development of the program and specific services provided.

In the last few years, several papers and a few clinical studies have raised again this issue, suggesting that the time has come for a proper definition of the type of filtration, of its potential benefit, and of its proper indications in clinical practice. The WoCoVA Foundation, whose goal is to increase the global awareness on the risk of intravenous access and on patients' safety, developed the project of a consensus on intravenous filtration.

In the present study, we used fusogenic reconstituted envelopes (virosomes), derived from influenza virus, as a carrier system for delivery of a synthetic soluble peptide corresponding to a major murine CTL epitope of the influenza virus nucleoprotein (NP). Virosomes containing encapsulated NP-peptide efficiently sensitized target cells for recognition by influenza-specific CTLs generated through priming of mice with infectious virus.

The structure reveals a novel protein fold composed of two homologous domains, each resembling the structure of hirustasin, a related 55-residue protease inhibitor.
