There is global demand for novel ecotoxicity testing tools that are based on alternative to animal models, have high throughput potential, and may be applicable to a wide diversity of taxa. Here we scaled up a microplate-based cell-free neurochemical testing platform to screen 800 putative endocrine disrupting chemicals from the U.S.

Enterococcus faecium SF68 (SF68) is a well-known probiotic with a long history of safe use. Recent changes in the taxonomy of enterococci have shown that a novel species, Enterococcus lactis, is closely related with E. faecium and occurs together with other enterococci in a phylogenetically well-defined E.

Objectives: Alpha-lactalbumin, the protein from human and bovine milk has been found to be promising as an alternative of anticancer agent This study was aimed to investigate the effects of lactalbumin enzymatic hydrolysate (LAH) on cell proliferation, migration, and mRNA expression of () on human squamous cell carcinoma (hSCC) cell lines, .

Methods: Tongue (HSC-4 and 7) and pharyngeal (HN-30 and 31) hSCC cell lines were treated with a two-fold dilution of LAH (0.39-100 mg/ml).

Background And Objective: Brain arteriovenous malformations (bAVMs) carry a risk of hemorrhage. We aim to identify factors associated with subsequent hemorrhages.

Methods: Systematic searches were conducted across the ScienceDirect, Medline, and Cochrane databases.

Scope: Modifications in intestinal microbiota and its metabolites, the short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) are main factors altering intestinal epithelial barrier integrity and eliciting the onset of a meta-inflammation observed in obesity. The present study is aimed at evaluating the efficacy of Enterococcus faecium (SF68) administration in counteracting the impairment of gut barrier and enteric inflammation in a model of diet-induced obesity, characterizing the molecular mechanisms underlying such beneficial effects.

Methods And Results: Male C57BL/6J mice, fed with standard diet (SD) or high-fat diet (HFD), are treated with SF68 (10  CFU day ).
