There are limited longitudinal data from non-industrialized settings on patterns and determinants of gut bacterial microbiota development in early childhood. We analysed epidemiological data and stool samples collected from 60 children followed from early infancy to 5 years of age in a rural tropical district in coastal Ecuador. Vascular imaging is an integral part of large-vessel vasculitis (LVV) evaluation and management. Several imaging modalities are currently employed in clinical practice including vascular ultrasound, computed tomography angiography, MRI and magnetic resonance angiography, and F-fluorodeoxyglucose PET. We report the introduction of this lineage into Colombia and its co-circulation with another OROV lineage. Continued surveillance is needed to prevent further spread of OROV in the Americas.
