Objectives: To analyze the prevalence of pediatric voice disorders.
Study Design: Systematic review (SR) and meta-analysis.
Methods: The research question of this SR was "What is the prevalence of dysphonia in children?" An electronic search was performed using the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System online (Medline), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, EMBASE, Web of Science, and SCOPUS database.
Giant conjunctival cysts, though rare, can cause significant discomfort and functional impairment due to their size as well as their potential for rupture and recurrence. We report the case of a 51-year-old female who presented with a recurrent giant conjunctival cyst in her left eye, experiencing considerable discomfort and pain upon eye movement. The cyst, located in the left eye, had previously recurred after surgical excision, though visual acuity remained 20/20 bilaterally.

The leading cause of mortality in these patients is non-pulmonary multiorgan dysfunction, which is believed to worsen due to the biological response to mechanical ventilation (biotrauma). Background: Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC), a group of enteric pathogenic bacteria that is a major cause of human diarrheal disease, must interact with the diverse intestinal microbiome during colonization and subsequently overcome the environmental challenges to survive and cause disease. While this relationship, and how the microbiome modulates infection of EHEC, has been studied, it is less understood how the microbiome is impacted during treatment for an EHEC infection. One area that is notably lacking in knowledge is how vaccination can impact the intestinal microbiome composition, and therefore, influence vaccine efficacy.
