Background: Acute respiratory tract infections are common in primary healthcare care settings and frequently result in antibiotic prescriptions, despite being primarily viral. There is scarcity of research examining impact of academic detailing (AD) intervention on prescribing practices for these infections in resource-constrained healthcare settings like southeastern Europe. Therefore aim of this study was to evaluate impact of AD intervention as an antimicrobial stewardship measure on antibiotic prescribing for acute respiratory tract infections in primary setting in Croatia which is located in southeastern Europe.

In contrast to most other animal species which possess two-domain (bidominial) MTs, some gastropod species have evolved Cd-selective multidomain MTs (md-MTs) consisting of several concatenated β3 domains and a single C-terminal β1 domain. Each domain contains three-metal ion clusters and binds three metal ions.

Introduction: Previous studies showed the importance of right ventricular (RV) remodeling in patients with arterial hypertension and RV longitudinal strain was recognized as very sensitive parameter for detection of subtle cardiac impairment. However, its clinical importance in arterial hypertension has not been established so far.
Aim: The present study aimed to evaluate the association between RV longitudinal strain (global and free-wall) on adverse outcomes measured by MACE in the large group of hypertensive patients who were followed for mean period of 10 years.
Background & Aims: Surgery plays a key role in the management of complicated diabetic foot disease (DFD). Currently, indications for medical versus surgical management are poorly defined. Prompt identification of patients who require surgery may reduce morbidities and length of hospital stay.

While the downregulation or knockdown of FAHD1 has been extensively researched in various cell types, this study aimed to pioneer the exploration of how increased catalytic activity of human FAHD1 isoform 1 (hFAHD1.1) affects human cell metabolism.
