Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) accounts for 1.3% of all cancers, with a limited survival of only 30%, and treating AML is a continuous challenge in medicine. IKZF1 is a DNA-binding protein that is highly mutated and undruggable but significant in causing AML.

Fibroblast activating protein (FAP) is a cell surface marker of cancer-associated fibroblasts with a distinct pro-tumorigenic role. The present study analyzed the pan-cancer expression; and clinical and mutational profiles of the FAP coding gene. Molecular dynamics simulation (MDS) deciphered the backbone dynamics and energetics of FAP.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) hinders the effective treatment of a range of bacterial infections, posing a serious threat to public health globally, as it challenges the currently available antimicrobial drugs. Among the various modes of antimicrobial action, antimicrobial agents that act on membranes have the most promising efficacy. However, there are no consolidated reports on the shortcomings of these drugs, existing challenges, or the potential applications of phytochemicals that act on membranes.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) ranks as the third most prevalent cancer globally, hence there is an urgent need for new and effective therapeutic options. DNA topoisomerase 2A (TOP2A) plays a crucial role in the cell cycle and is involved in CRC progression, making it essential to identify structural and functional relevant alterations. Among the 24 mutations, our findings indicated that mutation D1021Y has the most deleterious effect on the TOP2A protein.

Article Synopsis
  • Respiratory tract infections (RTIs) significantly affect global health, particularly in vulnerable populations like children and the elderly.
  • The main bacterial culprits associated with RTIs include Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and various other pathogens that have developed resistance mechanisms through gene transfer.
  • The review emphasizes the need for new treatment strategies and highlights the role of artificial intelligence in managing RTIs to combat the growing issue of antimicrobial resistance.
