The aim of our work was to study turbulent premixed flames in subatmospheric conditions. For this purpose, turbulent premixed flames of lean methane/air mixtures were stabilized in a nozzle-type Bunsen burner and analyzed using Schlieren visualization and image processing to calculate turbulent burning velocities by the mean-angle method. Moreover, hot-wire anemometer measurements were performed to characterize the turbulent aspects of the flow.

Coffee husks represent about 12 wt % of coffee grains, generating a significant impact on the environment because of its inadequate disposal. In Colombia, this waste presents an energy resource opportunity equivalent to over 49,106 TJ per year. However, several challenges related to this type of biomass, such as the moisture content, the irregular shapes, and the low bulk density, make its use difficult in current burners.

Multimorbidity is an emerging topic in public health policy because of its increasing prevalence and socio-economic impact. However, the age- and gender-dependent trends of disease associations at fine resolution, and the underlying genetic factors, remain incompletely understood. Here, by analyzing disease networks from electronic medical records of primary health care, we identify key conditions and shared genetic factors influencing multimorbidity.

We present the data from a crowdsourced project seeking to replicate findings in independent laboratories before (rather than after) they are published. In this Pre-Publication Independent Replication (PPIR) initiative, 25 research groups attempted to replicate 10 moral judgment effects from a single laboratory's research pipeline of unpublished findings. The 10 effects were investigated using online/lab surveys containing psychological manipulations (vignettes) followed by questionnaires.
