Factors Associated with Tobacco Smoking Initiation in Jordan: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Objectives: In this study, our goal is to determine the average age of initiation of smoking and to discuss factors associated with smoking initiation and how they differ among different age groups. Such data may provide inspiration for the government to implement strong and comprehensive tobacco control policies.

Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was applied to a random sample of at least 370 participants who were categorized into four age groups ((15 years - 24 years), (25 years - 44 years), (45 years - 64 years), and (65+ years)) from all districts of al-Balqa Jordan using a modified questionnaire made on google forms.

Background: Clinical decision support systems (CDSSs) are designed to assist in health care delivery by supporting medical practice with clinical knowledge, patient information, and other relevant types of health information. CDSSs are integral parts of health care technologies assisting in disease management, including diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring. While electronic medical records (EMRs) serve as data repositories, CDSSs are used to assist clinicians in providing personalized, context-specific recommendations derived by comparing individual patient data to evidence-based guidelines.

The impact of the Woven EndoBridge device on the treatment of anterior circulation wide-neck bifurcation aneurysms: a single-center experience.

Objective: The paucity of literature comparing Woven EndoBridge (WEB) embolization to microsurgical clipping for anterior circulation wide-neck bifurcation aneurysms (WNBAs) underscores the need for further investigation into the optimal management of this patient subpopulation. The objective of this study was to compare the rate of endovascular and microsurgical treatment of WNBAs before and after the introduction of the WEB device. In addition, the authors performed a comparison of demographics, aneurysm characteristics, and treatment outcomes in patients before and after the introduction of the WEB device.

Novel Resin-Based Antibacterial Root Surface Coating Material to Combat Dental Caries.

Root caries caused by cariogenic bacteria are a burden on a large number of individuals worldwide, especially the elderly. Applying a protective coating to exposed root surfaces has the potential to inhibit the development of caries, thus preserving natural teeth. This study aimed to develop a novel antibacterial coating to combat root caries and evaluate its effectiveness using the antibacterial monomer dimethylaminohexadecyl methacrylate (DMAHDM).
