Background: The difficult airway is frequently encountered across many scenarios. The extreme form is a "cannot intubate and cannot oxygenate" scenario, which lacks a reliable rescue technique. Previous case reports or studies with small sample sizes indicate the feasibility and efficiency of an endotracheal tube in the pharynx (TTIP) to ventilate patients.

Introduction: Spontaneous heterotopic pregnancy is a clinical condition in which both intrauterine and extrauterine pregnancies occur simultaneously. An ectopic pregnancy in the ovary is extremely rare in the absence of risk factors.

Purpose: The purpose of the current study is to assess changes in the expression of Acid-Sensing Ion Channel (ASIC)1a and ASIC2 in retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) after retinal ischemia and reperfusion (I/R) injury and to test if inhibition of ASIC1a provides RGC neuroprotection.

Methods: Transient ischemia was induced in one eye of C57BL/6 mice by raising intraocular pressure to 120 mmHg for 60 min followed by retinal reperfusion by restoring normal pressure. RGC function was measured by Pattern electroretinography (PERG).

The future of date palm cultivation in the Lower Jordan Valley of the West Bank.

High water consumption and specific soil requirements warrant a long-term planning for date palm cultivation. Hence, this study presents a detailed procedure to calculate water and land balances that assess the suitability for date palm cultivation in three districts of the West Bank. It applies crop response functions to relate spatially explicit land suitability and salinity levels to net revenues.
