Orthostatic hypotension (OH) is a common cardiovascular disorder with high prevalence in the elderly. Concomitant venous return impairment may worsen the autonomic response and accentuate the symptoms. We detailed a patient with severe OH, prominent varicosities, and hemosiderin deposition in lower limbs.

Background And Objective: Lung neoplasia is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide, thus, early detection and accuracy in establishing a diagnosis is paramount. As a consequence of decades of basic and translational studies revealing the genetic basis of lung cancer, a paradigm shift has occurred toward a personalized approach to medicine whereby mutational analysis confers an opportunity for safer, and expedient treatment options. In this context, next-generation sequencing (NGS) has emerged as a vital technological advance, and has become increasingly established as a core method for rapidly and effectively identifying actionable mutations in lung cancer.

Impact of L-Citrulline Supplementation and HIIT on Lipid Profile, Arterial Stiffness, and Fat Mass in Obese Adolescents with Metabolic-Dysfunction-Associated Fatty Liver Disease: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Background: Metabolic-dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and obesity contribute to vascular dysfunction through oxidative stress, heightening cardiovascular risk. Oral supplementation with L-citrulline (L-cit), a precursor of L-arginine (L-arg) and nitric oxide, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) may improve vascular function and cardiometabolic health.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the combined effects of L-cit supplementation and HIIT on arterial stiffness, body composition, glucose metabolism, lipid profile, and blood pressure (BP) in adolescents with MASLD and obesity.

Adverse iliofemoral anatomy represents a unique challenge for endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR). This report describes a transaxillary EVAR in a patient with severe iliofemoral occlusive disease and an infrarenal aortic aneurysm. A reversely mounted Gore Excluder graft was advanced and deployed in the infrarenal aorta using the left axillary artery.

Safety and immunogenicity of an mRNA-1273 vaccine booster in adolescents.

Safety, immunogenicity, and effectiveness of an mRNA-1273 50-μg booster were evaluated in adolescents (12-17 years), with and without pre-booster SARS-CoV-2 infection. Participants who had received the 2-dose mRNA-1273 100-µg primary series in the TeenCOVE trial (NCT04649151) were offered the mRNA-1273 50-μg booster. Primary objectives included safety and inference of effectiveness by establishing noninferiority of neutralizing antibody (nAb) responses after the booster compared with the nAb post-primary series of mRNA-1273 among young adults in COVE (NCT04470427).
