Anxiety and care experiences in adolescents with chronic health conditions: an international, longitudinal study across the transfer of care.

Objectives: To evaluate changes in anxiety, care experiences and condition impact among adolescents with chronic health conditions in two countries as they transfer to adult healthcare and to assess factors influencing anxiety levels.

Design: A longitudinal international study. Data was collected by questionnaires before (2017-2021) and a year after (2018-2022) transfer of care.

Differences in Situational Patterns During Change of Direction Movements Greater than 90° in Youth Male and Female Soccer Players.

Change of direction (COD) maneuvers in soccer create tactical advantages, but also expose the player to an increased risk of injury. COD ability is commonly tested with pre-planned drills including cuts greater than 90°. These tests do not take into consideration positional differences players encounter during games.

Targets for improving dispatcher identification of acute stroke.

Background: Accurate identification of acute stroke by Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMD) is essential for timely and purposeful deployment of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and a prerequisite for operating mobile stroke units. However, precision of EMD stroke recognition is currently modest.

Aims: We sought to identify targets for improving dispatcher stroke identification.

The impact of maternal obesity, age, pre-eclampsia and insulin dependent diabetes on severe maternal morbidity by mode of delivery-a register-based cohort study.

Purpose: To determine the rate of severe maternal morbidity related to delivery by delivery mode and to assess if the impact of studied risk factors varies by delivery mode.

Methods: A register-based study including all women having singleton delivery in Finland in 2007-2011, n = 292,253, data derived from the Finnish Medical Birth Registry and Hospital Discharge Registry. Diagnoses and interventions indicating a severe maternal complication were searched and the mode of delivery was assessed by data linkage.

Variation in cesarean section rates is not related to maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the rate of cesarean sections in 12 delivery units in Finland, and to assess possible associations between cesarean section rates and maternal and neonatal complications.

Design: Prospective multicenter cohort study.

Setting: The 12 largest delivery units in Finland.
