Aim: To report the relationship between average keratometric (AK) readings and axial length (AL) measurements in left eyes of patients attending a cataract surgery camp in sub-Saharan Africa.

Methods: A prospective evaluation of 648 left eyes of consecutive patients who presented for a cataract surgery camp. The KOWA Autorefractor and Alcon ocuscan were used for measurements.

Aim: To quantify the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the rate of intravitreal antivascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injections (IVI) in eye hospitals in Nigeria.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective, observational, comparative study. The IVIs given 12 months before (pre-COVID) and 12 months after the first announcement of the COVID-19 lockdown (COVID) in Nigeria in four hospitals were used as the sample for this study.

Background: Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is widely used as the standard of care in evaluating macular and retinovascular diseases. However, the degree of OCT utilization is yet to be researched in a resource-limited country where wide gaps exist in access to healthcare.

Loiasis is a neglected tropical disease caused by infection with the filarial parasite Loa loa. It is a disease considered by many to be benign. Several reports of trans border importation of the Loa loa worm amongst immigrants and visitors from endemic regions of the world exist.

Presenting Visual Acuity and Ocular Comorbidity in Patients with Primary Open Angle Glaucoma in a Private Tertiary Eye Center in Nigeria.

Purpose: To determine the presenting visual acuity (VA) of patients with primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) and the relationship to ocular comorbidity.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective case note audit was undertaken in Eye Foundation Hospital, Calabar, between 1st January 2010 and 31st June 2011. The case notes of all newly presenting patients diagnosed with POAG were retrieved and data were extracted for analysis.
