Management of Giant Cell Tumor of Distal Radius-Does Curettage Work?

Giant cell tumor affecting distal radius has been considered more aggressive, as compared to its counterparts in other locations. While resection has been advocated as the treatment of choice with lower rates of recurrence, curettage has reportedly led to superior functional outcomes. This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the functional and oncological outcomes of patients managed for GCT distal radius by either extended intralesional curettage (EIC) or resection and arthrodesis with radialisation of ulna (RRU), with respect to rates of local recurrence and function.

Transient perivascular inflammation of the carotid artery (TIPIC) syndrome - a rare differential for anterior neck pain - Series of 3 cases and review of literature.

We report a series of 3 cases of transient perivascular inflammation of the carotid artery (TIPIC) syndrome in an otherwise healthy individual. We would also like to review this rare entity and compare it with other similar cases reported in the literature. Our first case was a young male with right-sided neck pain of 1-week duration with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showing right carotid perivascular inflammation which completely resolved after 2 weeks with anti-inflammatory drugs.
