Objectives: Venous thromboembolism is a potentially fatal complication of superficial endovenous treatment. Proper risk assessment and thromboprophylaxis could mitigate this hazard; however, there are currently no evidence-based or consensus guidelines. This study surveyed UK and Republic of Ireland vascular consultants to determine areas of consensus.

We report the first case of an aneurysmal rupture from the costocervical trunk in a NF-1 patient treated by endovascular embolisation.
Presentation Of Case: A 43 year-old gentleman with a past medical history of NF-1 presented with sudden onset left sided neck swelling.

Objectives: a trial of the use of integrated care pathways (ICPs) for elective vascular surgical procedures.
Design: a 12-month prospective study, following a multi-disciplinary group construction of current "best practice" ICPs, with changes in practice only occurring following careful audit of results.
Materials: patients admitted to a single vascular unit for "open" repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm, carotid endarterectomy or femoropopliteal bypass grafting.
