Dust resuspension rates in four different landscapes in Kuwait were estimated over a 2-year period using Be and Cs radionuclides. The average rates of resuspension of particles labeled with Be (2 × 10 ± 3.9 × 10 s) were much higher than those of particles labeled with Cs (1.

Two of these EUs, Bondoukou 1 and Bangolo 2, were selected for a follow-up survey to understand the epidemiology of trachoma using additional indicators of Chlamydia trachomatis infection (DNA from conjunctival swabs) and exposure (anti-Pgp3 and Ct694 antibodies from dried blood spots [DBSs]).

Displaced populations are an at-risk group who are often excluded from treatment and services due to their mobility and marginalisation. This article reflects on the experiences of two countries within the Ascend programme, which responded to the need to strategise and implement approaches that lead to more inclusive and accessible programme activities for displaced populations.

Patients with TM who were referred for regular blood transfusion and periodic checkup were included in this study. A questionnaire containing demographic and medical data was provided for all patients by an expert pediatrician.

The study aimed to describe the behavior of these radionuclides in typical soil types in Kuwait. Custom-made large-diameter lysimeters (30 cm) were constructed to hold about 70 kg of undisturbed soil.
