The creation and improvement of non-invasive closed-loop brain stimulation technologies represent an exciting and rapidly expanding field of neuroscience. To identify the appropriate way to close the feedback loop in adaptive neurostimulation procedures, it was previously proposed to use on-line automatic sensory stimulation with the parameters modulated by the patient's own rhythmical processes, such as respiratory rate, heart rate, and electroencephalogram (EEG) rhythms. The current paper aims to analyze several recent studies demonstrating further development in this line of research.

The spectral, fluorescent and functional properties of ferric oxide and ferric hydroxide nanoparticles loaded with doxorubicin and stabilized with citric acid or lysine were studied in comparison with free doxorubicin. Their effect on the opening of calcium-induced mitochondrial pore and the possibility of the controlled release of doxorubicin under the influence of redox stimuli were investigated. The data show that the effect of nanoparticles on mitochondria depends on the type of a stabilizer.

In the present study, we attempted to find predictors of the response to antiepileptic treatment with the adjustment for individual constitutional characteristics of patients including the profile of hemispheric asymmetry (right- and left handedness), premorbid personality, predisposition to affective and other mental disorders. We administered a large battery of tests (MMSE, HAM-A, HAM-D, TAS-26 and others). Treatment efficacy was assessed by the degree of seizure frequency reduction and remission duration.
