[Stereoscopic vision evaluation in patients after binocular implantation of different intraocular lens models].

Stereoscopic vision in patients after binocular implantation of different intraocular lens (IOL) models was evaluated. 24 patients (48 eyes) after cataract surgery were enrolled in the study. Follow-up was 12 months.

[Characteristics of the structure of the posterior segment of the eye and morphology of posterior detachment of the vitreous body depending on the nature of pathological process as shown by ultrasonic B-scanning].

The data of B-scanning of 120 eyes with various diseases are analyzed. The authors pay special attention to the morphology of posterior segments of the vitreous and posterior hyaloid detachment and to relationship between tissues of the posterior segment and the type of pathological process. Sonograms with certain nosological entities are described and deciphered.

[Evaluation of mechanical and ultrasonic characteristics of the lens nucleus].

Acoustic examinations of the lens were carried out in patients with cataracts of different degree of maturing and mechanical solidity of the nucleus was measured after surgery. An original method of ultrasonic examination with Humphrey's A/B scanning system was used. Ultrasonic density was 10-15% increased in more mature forms of cataract, which was confirmed by postoperative measurements of the nucleus solidity by means of 2034 TMR microhardness meter (the solidity was increased by 15-20 mN).
