Role of mothers in preventing tuberculosis in children: A scoping review.

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant global health challenge, especially for children. The aim of this scoping review was to investigate the role of mothers in preventing childhood TB transmission and highlight effective strategies and associated barriers. A systematic literature search was conducted using PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus, covering articles up to January 17, 2024.

Allopurinol, known for its antioxidant properties, has been shown to enhance tissue survival in ischemic conditions by reducing the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). This study aims to assess the impact of allopurinol on the viability and success of skin flaps in Wistar rats exposed to nicotine.

Context: The postacute heart failure (AHF) rehospitalization rate is attributed to persistent hemodynamic congestion despite clinical improvement. Peak atrial longitudinal strain (PALS), utilizing speckle tracking echocardiography technology, shows potential in post-AHF prognosis. Meanwhile, N-terminal pro-hormone brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) remains a known biomarker of intracardiac congestion.

A clinical and novel dermoscopic investigation of combined peels as a hand aging treatment.

Background: The hands are one of the areas where skin aging is most noticeable, alongside the face, but limited studies used dermoscopic evaluation on hand aging. The Dermoscopy Photoaging Scale (DPAS) is frequently used to assess face aging but is never used for hand aging. Treating skin aging using chemical peeling is a commonly used method to rejuvenate the skin on the hands, as it is relatively affordable.
