A comprehensive assessment of nutritional status in 73 patients with metabolic syndrome was assessed. The consumption food pattern of the majority of examined patients have had increased energy intake with excessive fat consumption inadequate intake of complex carbohydrates. In patients with type 2 diabetes inadequate compensation of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism was marked.
