Introduction: The widespread use of artificial intelligence (AI) programs during the COVID-19 pandemic to assess the exact volume of lung tissue damage has allowed them to train a large number of radiologists. The simplicity of the program for determining the volume of the affected lung tissue in acute interstitial pneumonia, which has density indicators in the range from -200 HU to -730 HU, which includes the density indicators of "ground glass" and reticulation (the main radiation patterns in COVID-19) allows you to accurately determine the degree of prevalence process. The characteristics of chronic interstitial pneumonia, which are progressive in nature, fit into the same density framework.

We propose a method of quantitative functional activity assessment in cells isolated via sorting on a flow cytometer. We show that cell populations vary in the mRNA expression of cytokine genes immediately after isolation and sorting, while the maintenance of homogenous populations in culture without stimulation results in an increase in these gene mRNA expression. Using the original system, it is now possible to detect mRNA cytokine genes with high sensitivity, starting from 90 cells per specimen.

Objective: To estimate the capabilities of computed tomography (CT) in revealing the anatomic causes of restrictive lung changes in patients with pulmonary histiocytosis X.

Subject And Methods: The results of examining 36 patients with pulmonary histiocytosis X, who underwent comprehensive functional study of external respiration (CRSER), CT, and high-performance CT (HPCT), were analyzed.

Results: According to the results of CRSER, the authors identified a group of patients with restrictive ventilation disorders, which included 7 men and 1 woman.

Kunitz-type proteinase inhibitor proteins of group A (KPI-A) are involved in the protection of potato plants from pathogens and pests. Although sequences of large number of the KPI-A genes from different species of cultivated potato (Solanum tuberosum subsp. tuberosum) and a few genes from tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) are known to date, information about the allelic diversity of these genes in other species of the genus Solanum is lacking.

The influenza C virus is spread worldwide and causes diseases of the upper and (less frequently) lower respiratory tract in human. The virus is not pandemic, but it circulates together with pandemic influenza A and B viruses during winter months and has quite similar clinical manifestations. The influenza C virus is also encountered in animals (pigs and dogs) and is known to override the interspecific barriers oftransmssion.
