Antimicrobial Activity of Milk Whey in Different Mammals.

Antimicrobial activity of milk whey in different mammals against Candida albicans yeast cells was studied by a spectrophotometric method. The activity increased in the order goat→horse→camel→cow→human→mouse. The level of whey activity in mice was higher by 3 and 10 times than in humans and goats, respectively.

[Radiological analysis of size of bone elements of the temporomandibular joint in children and adolescents with class II malocclusion].

Background: The aim of the study was to assess the ratio of bone elements of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) in children and adolescents with distal occlusion according to cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).

Material And Methods: CBCT of the TMJ was analyzed in 121 patients aged 12-18 years, which were divided into two age groups: group I - children aged 12-15 years (62 cases in total, of which 47 patients with distal occlusion and 15 patients with physiological occlusion) and II group - adolescents aged 15-18 years (59 cases, of which 48 patients with distal occlusion and 11 patients with physiological occlusion). CBCT of the temporomandibular joint was performed by the standard method in the position of habitual occlusion and maximally open mouth.

Arabinogalactan proteins are very abundant, heavily glycosylated plant cell wall proteins. They are intensively studied because of their crucial role in plant development as well as their function in plant defence. Research of these biomacromolecules is complicated by the lack of tools for their analysis and characterisation due to their extreme heterogeneity.

Foraging in Boreal Forest: Wild Food Plants of the Republic of Karelia, NW Russia.

While the current consumption of wild food plants in the taiga of the American continent is a relatively well-researched phenomenon, the European taiga area is heavily underrepresented in the scientific literature. The region is important due to its distinctive ecological conditions with restricted seasonal availability of wild plants. During an ethnobotanical field study conducted in 2018-2019, 73 people from ten settlements in the Republic of Karelia were interviewed.

[Cephalometric study of 9-15 years old patients with maxillofacial anomalies and cerebral palsy].

Aim: To study the morphological state of the maxillofacial system in children with cerebral palsy.

Material And Methods: The frequency and prevalence of dental anomalies was studied in 30 9-15 years old children with cerebral palsy. For the registration of maxillofacial anomalies, the Bjork assessment method was used.
