The effect of silica NPs incorporation on protective properties of oxide layers formed by PEO on MgYZn alloy with LPSO-phase.

The inherited chemical inhomogeneity in oxide layers obtained by plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) on the magnesium alloy MgYZn is associated to long-period stacking-ordered (LPSO) phase present in the treated alloy. This heterogeneity results in decrease of corrosion resistance and adhesion strength. The problem was solved by adding silica nanoparticles (NPs) into the electrolyte under PEO.

[Endothelium-dependent and endothelium-independent vasodilation in patients with chronic prostatitis].

Using laser Doppler flowmetry, basal blood flow in patients with chronic prostatitis was evaluated. 90 men with chronic prostatitis and 30 healthy men of reproductive age underwent examination. For the assessment of endothelial vasomotor function, ionophoretic tests with 5% acetylcholine and 5% sodium nitroprusside were performed.

[Lactoferrin assay in urethritis and urethral prostatitis].

An immunochemical study of prostatic secretions in 97 patients with urethritis and urethroprostatitis has detected a significant rise of lactoferrin level in mixed infections (trichomonads + chlamydia and trichomonads + uroplasma--17 patients) versus control (14 healthy males) and group as a whole.
