Molecular targeted cancer therapy is a rapidly developing field, driving progress toward greater treatment efficacy. However, targeted monotherapy often fails due to the development of multidrug resistance in tumors. The combination of multiple targeted agents emerges as a possible solution to enhance treatment outcomes by activating different signaling pathways.

The magnetophotonic structure consists of a thin magnetic film and a Bragg stack of nonmagnetic layers to provide a proper nonuniform interference pattern of the inverse Faraday effect induced by light in the magnetic layer. We found a phenomenon of the pronounced phase slippage of the inverse Faraday effect distribution when the pump wavelength is within the photonic band gap of the structure.

Electropermeabilization has been studied extensively at the cellular scale, but not at the individual membrane lesion level. We employed fast total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) imaging of Ca entry transients to discern individual lesions in a hyperpolarized cell membrane and characterize their focality, thresholds, electrical conductance, and the lifecycle.

Electrostatic interaction with the partners, complex and CcO, is ensured by a lysine cluster near the heme forming the Universal Binding Site (UBS). We constructed three mutant variants of mitochondrial CytC with one (2Mut), four (5Mut), and five (8Mut) Lys->Glu substitutions in the UBS and some compensating Glu->Lys substitutions at the periphery of the UBS for charge compensation.

Such gratings have been created by pulses that are π/2 or smaller. This paper demonstrates that a microcavity with Bragg-like mirrors can be formed by colliding two single-cycle attosecond self-induced transparency pulses in the center of a two-level medium.
