Decision to self-isolate during the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK: a rapid scoping review.

Objective: Testing for COVID-19 was a key component of the UK's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This strategy relied on positive individuals self-isolating to reduce transmission, making isolation the lynchpin in the public health approach. Therefore, we scoped evidence to systematically identify and categorise barriers and facilitators to compliance with self-isolation guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK, to inform public health strategies in future pandemics.

Eradication of bovine leukosis from a heavily infected herd by the use of own offspring.

In a Holstein-Friesian dairy herd (n = 1,248) kept in loose housing system and showing 62% prevalence of infection with bovine leukosis virus (BLV), the newborn calves were separated from their dams and placed into individual pens. They were given freeze-stored colostrum derived from a BLV-free farm and then a calf starter diet. Strict hygienic measures of leukosis control were observed.

[Suppression by bone marrow cells of the level of specific IgE antibodies in the blood of mice and decrease in the production of IGE by bone marrow cells].

Changes in the level of the specific IgE-antibodies to ovalbumin under the influence of syngeneic cells of a bone marrow were studied. The IgE-response was induced by ovalbumin in mice (CBA X C57Bl/6)F1. The bone marrow cells suspensions (20-30 X 10(6) cells per mouse) from syngeneic donors was inoculated simultaneously with the immunization.
