Adaptation of unified protocol treatment for transdiagnostic disorders in Pakistan: A heuristic framework.

The access to evidence-based treatments for mental health problems is limited in low-resource settings. Transdiagnostic approaches, such as the Unified Protocol (UP), are a potential solution for these settings because they are multi-problem focused, modular, flexible, and have low complexity. This study aimed to adapt UP to the mental health context of an urban speciality clinic in Pakistan using a four-step process of heuristic framework.

Immunogenicity and Protective Efficacy of a Multi-Antigen Subunit Vaccine in Mice.

There is an urgent need for an effective TB vaccine capable of controlling both acute and chronic infection in populations with diverse genetic backgrounds. In this study, we characterised the immunogenicity and protective efficacy of a novel protein-in-adjuvant subunit vaccine. The protein component is a fusion protein of three different antigens, which we termed CysVac5: CysD, a major component of the sulfate activation pathway that is highly expressed during the chronic stage of infection, is fused with two major secreted mycobacterial antigens, Ag85B and MPT83.

Neurodegenerative diseases (ND) are disorders of the central nervous system (CNS) characterized by impairment in neurons' functions, and complete loss, leading to memory loss, and difficulty in learning, language, and movement processes. The most common among these NDs are Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD), although several other disorders also exist. These are frontotemporal dementia (FTD), amyotrophic lateral syndrome (ALS), Huntington's disease (HD), and others; the major pathological hallmark of NDs is the proteinopathies, either of amyloid-β (Aβ), tauopathies, or synucleinopathies.

Chemical Composition and Antimicrobial Properties of Morchella crassipes (Ascomycota) from Kashmir Valley (India).

In the current era, wild macrofungi are being focused for developing and overing novel bioactive compounds for the management of agricultural, horticultural, and other infectious diseases. In that view, current research work was designed to evaluate the biochemical composition and medicinal properties of Morchella crassipes mushroom. The mycochemical screening of aqueous extract exposed the incidence of glycosides, free amino acids and proteins, alkaloids, carbs, flavonoids, terpenoids, phenolic compounds and tannins, except volatile oils, resins, steroids, and anthraquinones.
