This study investigates the performance of biopolymer electrolytes based on chitosan and dextran for energy storage applications. The optimization of ion transport and performance of electric double-layer capacitors EDCL using these electrolytes, incorporating different concentrations of glycerol as a plasticizer and TiO as nanoparticles, is explored. Impedance measurements indicate a notable reduction in charge transfer resistance with the addition of TiO.

We investigated the properties of p-type semiconducting columnar phases in self-assembled umbrella-shaped mesogens that have subphthalocyanine cores and oligo-thienyl arms. These compounds have nonswitchable phases that exhibit remanent electric polarization and nonlinear optical activity. Additionally, these compounds can generate photocurrents in the visible spectral range due to their wide absorption band.

New thermostable β-1,3-1,4-glucanase (lichenase) designated as Blg29 was expressed and purified from a locally isolated alkaliphilic bacteria Bacillus lehensis G1. The genome sequence of B. lehensis predicted an open reading frame of Blg29 with a deduced of 249 amino acids and a molecular weight of 28.
