Background CT is among the most widely used diagnostic imaging techniques worldwide, providing significant advantages and invaluable diagnostic insights for detecting a wide range of diseases across various organs. However, it involves exposing patients to relatively high levels of ionizing radiation. Objective This study aims to document the radiation doses from chest CT scans performed at Azadi Teaching Hospital in Duhok Province and compare them with those recorded at the 3-Tesla Center for Advanced MRI and CT Scanning, also located in Duhok, using diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) as a benchmark.

Background Feeding and growth during infancy have been associated with later life body mass index and early excessive weight gain is associated with obesity later on. This study aimed to assess the effect of feeding in the first two years of life on the body composition of children at the preschool age and detect the importance of using bioelectrical impedance (BIA) analysis in identifying individuals at risk of overweight and obesity. Methods A cross-sectional study included 160 children.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy has dramatically improved the prognosis for some cancers but can be associated with myocarditis, adverse cardiovascular events, and mortality.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) model to predict the increased likelihood for the development of ICI-related myocarditis and adverse cardiovascular events.

Methods: Cancer patients treated with ICI at a tertiary institution from 2011 to 2022 were reviewed.

Background And Aims: Even though patient tolerance is critical to the success of noninvasive ventilation (NIV), research on using sedation to improve tolerance to NIV after traumatic chest injuries is limited. We hypothesized that dexmedetomidine would be superior to ketamine in terms of patient tolerance and lengthening the NIV sessions after blunt chest trauma.

Material And Methods: This randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial included 45 patients of both genders aged 18-60 who needed NIV after blunt chest trauma.

Background: Thyroid disorders have significant clinical sequelae, including impaired growth in children, metabolic abnormalities, and impaired cognitive function. However, available studies on burden of thyroid diseases in people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), particularly its prevalence and its interaction with HIV related factors (like CD4 count), are controversial. This review aimed to provide a comprehensive summary and analysis on the extent of thyroid dysfunctions in this population.
