Skeletal muscle work hypertrophy is usually connected with muscle progenitor SC (satellite cells) activation with subsequent incorporation their nuclei into myofibers. Passive stretch of unloaded muscle was earlier established to prevent atrophic processes and be accompanied by enhanced protein synthesis. We hypothesized that elimination of SC proliferation capacity by gamma-irradiation would partly preavent stretched muscle fiber capability to maintain their size under condition of gravitational unloading.

The paper proposes a procedure for determining the sizes and density of a tumor along the chosen linear direction crossing the image of a pathological focus. The whole procedure is performed by the special computer programme "Diaglmag".

Examples of management of 4 patients with various tumorous processes on radiation therapy are presented. The procedure of computed diagnostic processing of computed tomograms gives rather new quantitative information on the changes occurring in the pathological focus and its adjacent healthy tissues, which may lead to the efficiency of radiation therapy.

The measurements were made for high voltage (30-80 kV), treatment cone 8 cm in diameter and source-surface distance 30 cm. Necessary correction of the results was performed and the estimated error on a half-dose level was equal to 5.
