The effectiveness and safety of two types of samples based on a biocompatible polymer material made of methacrylic oligomers (Reperen) as a potential antiadhesion pericardial barrier were evaluated in in vitro and in vivo experiments. Two kinds of samples, reinforced with a polyamide mesh and without reinforcement, were used. In in vitro experiments, no adhesion and aggregation of human fibroblasts to the test samples were detected.

The identification of this area is sufficiently difficult due to the lack of clear morphological or some other criteria. Besides, its dimensions may vary considerably.

These previously unobserved transformations proceed through the formation of 1-azapentadienyl anion which undergoes 1,6-shift of the alkoxycarbonyl group to the cyclopentyl moiety followed by 1,6-cyclization to form the cyclopentapyridone (path ) and 1,5-cyclization accompanied by 1,3-shift of the methoxy group followed by dialkyl carbonate elimination to afford the hydroxypyrrole (path ). The mechanisms of the reactions were studied using DFT calculations.

Background: The basophil activation test (BAT) has been limited to research settings owing to technical issues. Novel approaches using dry, ready-to-use reagents and streamlined protocols offer greater flexibility and may open opportunities for easier implementation in clinical research.
Objective: Using a streamlined basophil activation test (sBAT) strategy and the settings of the baseline study of the Epicutaneous Immunotherapy in Toddlers with Peanut Allergy (EPITOPE) trial of EPicutaneous ImmunoTherapy, we aimed to assess the feasibility of implementing BAT in a multicenter trial and to evaluate its utility in predicting the outcomes of peanut double-blind placebo-controlled food challenge (DBPCFC).
A new dual-functional implant based on gellan-xanthan hydrogel with calcium-magnesium silicate ceramic diopside and recombinant lysostaphin and bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2)-ray is developed. In this composite, BMP-2 is immobilized on microparticles of diopside while lysostaphin is mixed directly into the hydrogel, providing sustained release of BMP-2 to allow gradual bone formation and rapid release of lysostaphin to eliminate infection immediately after implantation. Introduction of diopside of up to 3% (w/v) has a negligible effect on the mechanical properties of the hydrogel but provides a high sorption capacity for BMP-2.
