1'-Acetoxychavicol acetate (ACA) eliminates breast cancer cells via the HER2/MAPK/ERK1/2 and PI3K/AKT pathways, and it also directly influences endocrine resistance by both enhancing pro-apoptotic signals and suppressing pro-survival molecules. This study utilized bioinformatics to assess ACA target genes for lapatinib-resistant breast cancer. We identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs) using GSE16179 microarray data.

  • Children with cerebral palsy (CP) require consistent rehabilitation, and home therapy (HT) plays a crucial role in continuing the therapeutic benefits received in clinical settings, relying heavily on caregiver compliance, particularly from parents.
  • A qualitative study involving 15 parents revealed themes around their experiences with HT, identifying both barriers (like physical and psychological health challenges, and time constraints) and facilitating factors (like external support and a positive mindset).
  • The findings highlight that parents view HT as manageable and beneficial, enhancing their confidence, skills, and ability to track their children's progress effectively.

A promising water treatment method involves using biomass-derived activated carbon (AC) to remove emerging pollutants from wastewater due to its adsorption capacity, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. Notwithstanding, the existing literature lacks comprehensive studies that specifically focus on removing contaminants in water by comparing the effectiveness of adsorption and photocatalytic degradation methods. Additionally, there is not much emphasis on analyzing the combined processes of adsorption-photocatalytic degradation utilizing AC.

Article Synopsis
  • This review examines methods to improve volume retention in autologous fat grafting (AFG), highlighting the effectiveness of auxiliary techniques.
  • Twenty-six studies were analyzed, revealing that stromal vascular fractions (SVFs) and adipose tissue-derived stem cells (ADSCs) significantly enhance volume retention compared to standard AFG, while platelet-rich plasma (PRP) does not show similar effectiveness.
  • The study recommends the use of SVFs over ADSCs due to their comparable outcomes and the lower complexity of the SVF process.
