Amid heightened political polarization in the United States, have politics worked their way into the bedroom? An increase in political similarity between romantic partners has consequences not just for romantic relationships but for society as a whole; political homophily increases our political echo chambers and affects future generations. Study Design: The database of a tertiary university medical center was searched for all women who underwent vaginal hysterectomy as part of the treatment for pelvic organ prolapse, without opportunistic adnexectomy, from 2006 to 2015 to provide adequate time for long-term evaluation.
