In this manuscript, we investigate the memristor-based implementation of neuronal ion channels in a mathematical model and an experimental circuit for a neuronal oscillator. We used a FitzHugh-Nagumo equation system describing neuronal excitability. Non-linearities introduced by the voltage-gated ion channels were modeled using memristive devices.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA gene encoding a polysaccharide-degrading enzyme was cloned from the genome of the bacterium . Analysis of the amino acid sequence of the protein showed the presence of the catalytic domain of the endo-1,4-β-xylanases of the GH11 family. The gene was amplified by PCR and ligated into the pPic9m vector.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFMolecular logic gates (MLGs) are molecules which perform logic operations. They can potentially be used as building blocks for nano-sized computational devices. However, their physical and functional integration is a difficult task which remains to be solved.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFMicrobiomes influence the physiology and behavior of multicellular organisms and contribute to their adaptation to changing environmental conditions. However, yeast and bacterial microbiota have usually been studied separately; therefore, the interaction between bacterial and yeast communities in the gut of () is often overlooked. In this study, we investigate the correlation between bacterial and yeast communities in the gut of .
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA novel and promising way for creating nanomaterials based on gallium oxide is the ion synthesis of GaO nanocrystals in a SiO/Si dielectric matrix. The properties of nanocrystals are determined by the conditions of ion synthesis-the parameters of ion irradiation and post-implantation heat treatment. In this work, the light-emitting properties of GaO nanocrystals were studied depending on the temperature and annealing atmosphere.
