The outcome of 12-week corticosteroid therapy in COVID-19-related diffuse interstitial lung abnormalities.

Introduction: The efficacy of long-course corticosteroid therapy in treating COVID-19-related diffuse interstitial lung abnormalities (DILA) needs to be better understood. We aimed to investigate the benefits of 12-week corticosteroid treatment in COVID-19-related DILA by evaluating computed tomography (CT) lung severity scores.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective, single-centre observational study included patients aged 18 years or older admitted with moderate to severe COVID-19 pneumonia who received 12 weeks of oral prednisolone between January 2021 and December 2021.

Impact of Aerobika oscillating positive expiratory pressure in improving small airway resistance, lung function, symptoms and exercise capacity in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Background: Aerobika oscillating positive expiratory pressure (OPEP) device promotes airway clearance in many respiratory diseases. However, studies have yet to focus on its effectiveness in improving small airway resistance impulse oscillometry (IOS) measurement in COPD subjects. We aim to evaluate the improvement of small airway resistance ( IOS), lung function (spirometry), exercise capacity [ 6-min walking test (6MWT)], symptoms [COPD assessment test (CAT)] and severe exacerbation events among COPD subjects using Aerobika OPEP.

Association of dengue serotypes and its complications: a retrospective cohort study.

Introduction: Dengue fever is an arthropod-borne disease and has a wide clinical spectrum. It is hypothesised that dengue serotypes could be a possible factor for such phenomena and therefore be a possible predictor for the development of severe dengue.

Method: A retrospective cohort study was done to explore the association between dengue serotypes and the various complications.

Introduction: The co-existence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and pulmonary thromboembolic (PTE) disease poses a great clinical challenge. To date, few researches have addressed this important clinical issue among the South-East Asian populations.
